We are looking for an additional 100% farm-animal vet to join our clinical vet team working in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. We are dedicated large animal practice with an even mix of dairy, beef, sheep and goat clients. Herefordshire and the surrounding counties have a wide range of livestock farm types. We have a thriving Beef and Sheep sector with upland herds and flocks in the Black Mountains to some of the most prestigious lowland pedigree flocks of Texels, Limousins and Herefords in the UK. We are lucky to work with some large commercial suckler herds and a broad spectrum of beef systems. We are particularly lucky with our calf rearing farms and we have many proactive units. Our area also has many dairy goat herds and we are very active on these farms in routine and preventative roles. There are also our core dairy herds from block calving, extensive herds to 45 litre/day robot systems. Herefordshire really has it all!
The role would be for an enthusiastic mixed ruminant livestock practitioner with an interest in herd and flock health to help us maintain a high level of service in a growing caseload. We employ TB testing vets so your workload will be almost entirely clinical. New graduates and experienced clinicians are all welcome to apply.
We work a 1:4 rota with days off in lieu with a very competitive package and the chance to work and develop within a well supported, progressive and proactive team in a mixed livestock area. We have people working towards certificates in the team, a DBR holder and we actively encourage further qualifications and personal development.

Ros joined the practice in April 2019. She has a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, with an emphasis on nutrition and is currently studying for her SQP qualification. Ros has a particular interest in dairy goat herds and their niche place within the farming industry. She also finds the health planning side of the business very interesting and along side Laura produces the health plans. Ros is a very hands on person and is keen to study for her Vet Tech qualification so that she can get out on farm. In her spare time Ros enjoys walking with her three whippets, camping and horse riding. You will find Ros in our Ledbury office most of the time.
Alex qualifed from the Univeristy of Bristol in 2015. His first job was in nearby Knighton working in mixed practice with lots of cattle and sheep. Following this he went to work in West Sussex to focus on equine veterinary practice. He did a short stint on the road and was then based from within the equine hospital. He joined us here at Belmont in January 2019.
Having grown up in Suckley, Mike returned to the local area having graduating from Nottingham Vet School in 2011. After 3 years working in true mixed practice in Ledbury he undertook an internship at Three Counties Equine Hospital, gaining his Certificate in Equine Practice, before taking time to locum in Droitwich, New Zealand and the Shetland Isles. Now settled in Ledbury, with his wife Beth and their Labrador Pepper, he considers himself a practical allrounder, with an enthusiasm for most outdoor pursuits and a work hard play hard attitude.
Emma joined us in October 2018. She has completed a National Diploma in Horse Management at Holme Lacy College. Emma has always had a passion for all animals with a soft spot for horses. Having her own mare, she is keen on maintaining high standrads of all aspects of equine care. In her spare time Emma enjoys walking her two dogs Betty and Dotty and catching up with friends and family.
Before joining Belmont Farm and Equine in 2013 Nick worked in West Wales and Cheshire in large animal practice. He enjoys all aspects of large animal work and has particular interests in ruminant systems, helping clients build sustainable businesses through excellent animal health and performance. He completed the Diploma in Bovine Reproduction in 2018 and is a dairyCo mobility mentor. He is also very interested in genetics and delivers Clarifide genomic testing for the practice. Nick joined the business as a Director in 2017 and in his free time he juggles a young baby with as much fly fishing and shooting as possible.
Originally from a farming background in Gloucestershire, Harry graduated from the Royal Veterinary College back in 2016 and went to work in a farm practice in Worcestershire. Harry joined Belmont in September 2018 with the view to developing and broadening his knowledge on all farm species. His farming background stands him in good stead to cope with the challenges of farm veterinary work. Harry’s areas of interest include surgery and lameness. Outside of work Harry enjoys working his spaniel, shooting and sailing.
Tudor comes from Ordea in Romania. He qualified from the University of Cluj-Npoca in 2009 and went straight into clinical Veterinary practice. He was the sole vet on a dairy farm of 400 cows and then came to work in the UK for Eville and Jones doing meat inspection and abattoir work. He trained as a TB tester through XL Farmcare and joined the team at Belmont in February 2018. He lives in the Forest of Dean and in his spare time enjoys exploring the UK and further afield.
Sharon has worked for Belmont since 1997. She joined as office manager and soon became practice manager working for Belmont Veterinary Centre. When the practices spilt she continued to work for both Belmont Vets and Belmont Farm and Equine Vets as practice manager. Her role is very varied with no two days being the same. She likes the variation of working for both businesses and ensures both practices comply with the ever changing legislation set down by the government and the RCVS.
