In line with the BVA guidance we have changed our policy on all equine medicine orders which must now be ordered 24 hours in advance.
The reason for this is to allow an equine vet to review the case, meaning that we are prescribing responsibly whilst also ensuring that we are managing your horse’s case appropriately.
When placing your request please provide details of the current dose, report if any clinical signs have changed, the member of support staff you placed your order with will advise you when the medicines will be ready to collect, if needed a clinical vet will call you to discuss the case.
Basic Prescribing Principles
-We are not able to prescribe medicines for a horse that we have not seen in the past 12 months, this includes newly registered
horses.
-We can only prescribe medicines for an individual horse, for a specified condition – yard supplies will not be authorised.
-We will prescribe a maximum of a 3 month’s supply at any one time
-We will never prescribe antibiotics without seeing the horse.
-We hope that you will support our aspiration to provide the best possible care for your horse and should you have any queries
please do not hesitate to get in touch.
